Regional Sales/Operations Director

Department: Field
Location: Philadelphia, PA

Reports To:                Regional Vice President                                  

Direct Reports:           Sales Reps

  

Position Purpose:

The Regional Sales Operations Director has primary responsibility for the sales activity in a specified geographic Region providing ongoing support to the Regional Vice President to ensure the Districts within the Region are meeting their sales goals. Manage a sales team in order to maximize sales revenue and meet or exceed corporate-set goals in Sales and Operating Income by utilizing all available sales tools and information to direct their efforts ensuring maximum value is added from each customer contact.  

 

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

  •  Ensure that all Sales Representatives have sufficient product knowledge, sales skills, written and verbal communication skills, customer need assessment skills, and computer skills to plan and effectively execute their role in alignment with Company Strategy.  
  •  Develop market analysis and strategy plans for customers in assigned Region.  
  •  Developing specific sales plans to ensure growth both long and short-term 
  •  Positively impact sales and profits by identifying store-specific challenges including customer count, average sale, brand awareness, competitive intrusion and developing programs for individual stores, fine-tuning program to address specific geographic and demographic needs. 
  •  Collaborate with CBA (Central Business Analytics) and Pricing team to identify areas of opportunity in Districts. Use reporting to determine Sales Activity accountability, measure results, identify opportunities that drive results, and support best practices. Recommend new reporting that supports position and sales.
  •  Collaborating with senior executives to lead the Sales Strategy for assigned region and establish and execute a sales goal for each District that rolls up to their assigned Regional Territory 
  •  Forecasting annual, quarterly and monthly sales goals 
  •  Assisting sales team in their techniques 
  •  Educating sales team with presentations of strategies, seminars and regular meetings 
  •  Regular review with RVPs and District Managers on operational responsibilities including payroll, core banking, overrides, etc. and recommending improvements
  •  Monthly Sales Rep Scorecard review making necessary adjustments where needed and identifying opportunities and wins that can be shared with team.
  •  Work with Finance Team to ensure profitable sales growth in assigned Region.
  •  Partner with the Human Resources team to recruit, hire , train and coach Sales Representatives
  •  Act as liaison between RVPís & DMís on operational efficiencies and collaborate with guidance and direction.
  •  Special Projects as assigned by RVP.

 

Education:

Four year degree and minimum of 5-7 years of sales experience, or the equivalent amount of training and experience.

 

 

Knowledge and Experience:

 

  •  Strong communication and organization skills with the ability to clearly communicate effectively internally and externally.
  •  Keen knowledge of field decentralized management
  •  Extensive automotive parts sales knowledge. Import knowledge a plus.
  •  Customer Service experience
  •  Proficiency in the use of technology tools used to manage and develop new and existing customers.
  •  Proven ability to adapt positively to a changing environment and manage the process throughout the team with successful results.
  •  Able to work independently and with minimal supervision
  •  Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  •  Work cooperatively and collaborate with operations management to ensure a solid customer experience.
  •  Strategic business planning experience
  •  Strong understanding of P&L Statements
  •  Execution and Accountability of Scalable Sales Programs
  •  Customer and Competitive Insight
  •  Data-driven Decision Making
