Strategic Account Manager

Strategic Account Manager

The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) maintains and expands relationships with strategically important large customers and smaller Regional Customers as the main point of collaboration for adding value to the buyer- seller relationship. Working in partnership with the District Manager, Assistant District Manager and Sales Representatives, the Strategic Account Manager (SAM) recommends a sales plan, including pricing, financial incentive management, training programs and directs the implementation of said plans for all assigned accounts whether National or Regional. The SAM ensures that all account sales plans are implemented within an assigned region in alignment with the corporate strategy. The SAM identifies and develops new Regional growth opportunities to generate and expand customer penetration.

Position Responsibilities:

• Work with Supervisor and Field team to identify and expand AI core line penetration with area regional and national accounts.

• Under general direction the SAM represents the entire range of company products and services to assigned customers.

• Establish productive, professional relationships with key stakeholder and decision makers in assigned customer accounts.

• Coordinates the involvement of AI teams to meet account performance objectives and customer expectations

• Proactively assesses, clarifies and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis.

• Design a sales plan based on sales analytics that will drive growth by leading a joint company-strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets and critical milestones for a one and three year period.

• Identify and develop new growth opportunities within the assigned region by creating cross functional Strategic Account Plans involving People, Process, Stores and Systems that include quarterly customer performance reviews, key contact mapping, pricing terms, eservices and manage all customer financial incentive offerings.

• Work with the Norton Manager teams to create and update documentation outlining key negotiation points with Strategic Accounts for reference by our field and leadership teams. Information includes all related incentives (rebates, core banking, promotions, etc.), rules of customer engagement, ecommerce navigation, pricing terms, contact information and additional items as needed

  • Work cross functionally with key AI team members on customer program implementation and have regular dialogue with assigned team leaders from Parent organization.
  • Conduct themselves in an ethically appropriate manner following the guidelines of the AI Parts and Service Principles.

Qualifications :

• 3-5 years of outside sales experience in account management in a highly competitive business-to-business selling environment.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, skills and experience

• Knowledge of sales & marketing including current automotive after-market trends.

• Analytical sales planning skills.

• Ability to work on multiple projects at a time.

• Excellent communication skills, including professional presentation and development skills.

• Experience with Microsoft Excel, Power point, Word and Web-ex applications.

• Ability to manage and expand a $15 – 25 million dollar annual book of business.

• Highly sales-driven behaviors with a strong commitment to excellence.

• Ability to set and maintain priorities, policies and procedures; the discipline and patience to see plans through over the long term.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

Car and plane travel to stores, customers and corporate office

Schedule Requirements/Travel:

Weekdays and Saturdays/Approximately 60% travel
