District Manager

Location: W. Springfield, MA

At Autopart International, our District Manager are responsible for overseeing and managing all areas of sales and operational performance for multiple auto part wholesale locations. Primarily responsible for hiring, training, and maintaining the best possible team to drive sales performance and district success.  Ensure all stores are growing sales, maximizing gross profit margins, monitoring P&L and maintaining proper inventory levels.  Liaison between sales force and the store staff. Ensure store teams provide competent, quality service that will enhance customer perception of our product, our stores and the A.I. company experience to maximize sales and encourage repeat business. Assist managers in marketing parts sales. Act as a business consultant in developing profitability and value of the stores. Execute and communicate company procedures and policies in a manner consistent with Autopart Internationalís culture.


Position Responsibilities:

  • Manage and direct all district parts and service activities in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Set both long term as well as short term goals for the store and team members.
  • Work with sales team on developing a strategy to increase business and drive sales
  • Make sure all stores meet their sales and GP expectations and focus on increasing the bottom line
  • Motivate, hire and terminate store staff as needed; complete all employee-related paperwork
  • Continually train and coach store team members utilizing positive feedback and constructive criticism; constantly communicate and reinforce proper behavior and performance; conduct periodic performance appraisals
  • Make sure sales history data and call lists are being used appropriately
  • Assist Store Manager with maintaining proper inventory for the amount of sales
  • Review P&L to check for errors and maximize sales opportunities
  • Conduct district meetings and communicate regularly on topics such as store performance, policy changes, goals, safety, etc.
  • Make sure stores are making daily deposits
  • Visit customers to ensure satisfaction and reinforce the AI brand and service experience
  • Ensure vehicles and stores are properly maintained
  • Communicate regularly with team members; encourage smooth communication flow between store staff, corporate departments, distribution center and create a team-like environment of open communication between the stores in the district
  • Openly communicate, support and enforce all company policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Develop commission plans for store personnel
  • Lead by example



Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum 6 years of supervisory experience; 2 years experience with multi-unit management experience strongly preferred, ideally in the automotive industry.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced degree preferred
  • Operations experience with full P&L responsibility is required
  • Experience sourcing, interviewing and hiring candidates
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management, selling, coaching and training, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a multi-task and fast-paced environment; able to delegate and follow up
  • Great problem solving skills and ability to utilize available resources
  • Results-driven, hands on, and goal oriented management style
  • Positive team-player attitude; self-motivated with the ability to positively motivate others
